You can use Orbit without an account, and Orbit sets no cookies for visitors. The only personal information we hold about you is what you choose to send us through a form.

Cloudflare, which delivers this site, counts visits in aggregate without cookies. We see totals such as page views, not individual visitors. If we add Plausible later, it works the same way: no cookies and no profile of you.

The Claim, Suggest and Feedback forms send what you type to Orbit’s own database:

• Claim: your name, work email, role, an optional LinkedIn link, your message, and the company page you came from.
• Suggest: the company’s name, and optionally its website or LinkedIn, its city, your email, and why you suggest it.
• Feedback: the type of feedback, your message, an optional email, and the company page if you came from one.

With every submission we also record your IP address and your browser’s user agent. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a bot, sent the form; Cloudflare handles that check under its own privacy policy.

To review what you sent, to contact you if you gave us an email and we need more detail, and to verify that a claim comes from someone at the company. The IP address and user agent are used only to stop spam and repeated submissions.

Orbit staff, both admins and contributors, can see everything you send, including your contact details. Submissions are never published. A correction can change a company page when the evidence supports it, but your name and contact details never appear on the site. We don’t sell or share what you send.

We haven’t finalised this yet. Our proposal, under legal review, is to keep a submission until it is resolved and for 12 months after that. Until the policy is final, nothing is deleted automatically.

Orbit staff sign in to a separate admin area, which uses a session cookie on api.orbitfrom.com. Visitors never receive it.
